The soft and at times almost intangible hues we apply emphasize the warm vanilla-white tones, inspiring thoughts of elusive tendrils and serene whispers of water; subtle shades of pale sand and sunlit stone, and possibly just an inkling of frost and moonlight.
All Vanilla Stone ceramic pieces are handmade on the potters wheel, in elemental porcelain, and are glazed in high-fire glazes specially formulated in our studio.
Soft, muted colours are used, which inspire memories and thoughts of beautiful things and places, such as the sea, with delicate swirls of aqua and turquoise, or plants, with whispers of grey and green; the delicate hint of colour found on seashells and bone, the light reflected in shards of frost and fragments of moonlight, and the gleam found on the palest grains of sand or the varying patterns in stone.
